Thousands laid down their lives..
So that we could breath this day….
Never forget their sacrifice

It was a war that was fought with a lot of violence but won without a single gun being fired. The greatest imperialist power of the world was defeated only by the unity of Indians. On 15th Aug 1947 there was a birth of new country specially and Independent country-INDIA.
Independence-this word is not as simple as it looks. For this independence countless freedom fighters sacrificed their lives. For this independence a diverse country India united together. For this independence the greatest power of the world was defeated by one of the poorest country.
Independence was not earn by in a single day. It was earned by a series of struggles by the Indians like non-cooperation movement, Quit India movement, Dandi March etc.
Whenever we think about the Independence of India one person always comes in our mind that is 9501933763_fe0f53fc65_oMahatma Gandhi. He was a true Indian. His contribution can never be forgot in Indian independence. He was the one who united the whole country against Britishers. He showed the path of non violence. Although he wasn’t the only one due to which India got independence. There were millions of people who were responsible for Indian independence like Pandit Jawaharlal Nehru, Subhash Chandra Bose, Bhagat Singh, Chandrashekhar Azad, and many more.
Today we(Indians) are celebrating 70th Independence Day. In last 7 decades India has completely changed. To defeat somebody is very easy but to win someone is very difficult. India won the hearts of people around the globe. India has changed more in last 7 decades than in last 7 centuries. This is neither accidental nor providential; history shifts its pace when touched by vision. In the last 7 decades there is much that we can proud of. Our economic growth rate has more than tripled, the literacy rate has increased by over 4 times, we are now leading exporters of grains, poverty rate has decreased and many more. In simple words we can say that India is the cradle of human race, the birthplace of human speech, the mother of history, the grandmother of legend and the great grandmother of tradition.
Independence day is celebrated all over the country. At Red Fort, New Delhi, Prime Minister hoists the tricolor. I7786029044_70bb5438d0_zt is celebrated in each and every schools, colleges, government offices, private offices, public places, cities and states. But we have to make sure that it doesn’t become only a celebration. We didn’t get independence for free. Our ancestors earned it at the cost of their lives. We should not only ask for our rights but also for our duties. Many people ask that what can I do for India? I am just a common man. But we have to remember that if we want to contribute in nation building then we only have to do our job honestly. I think, this is the right occasion when we all pledge to do our duty. One last request for my fellow Indians that celebrate Independence day with great joy on 15th Aug but don’t throw the flag on 16th Aug and if you find any flag thrown on the street then please pick it up because independence is not only for 15th Aug, it is for all 365 days in a year. That’s all!
Jai Hind! Jai Bharat!
