NIGHTWALK

Yellow streetlights stars twinkling
Old grows night and I’m walking
Down those avenues down those lanes
Where times and people have gone insane
I hear news channels from some houses
Or baseless quarrels of some spouses
I hear lullabies soft and melodic
Some memories made me melancholic
With a diary and a pen finding a place
Where I can write and enjoy my space
When twilight ends darkens this place
Mystically slows down city’s pace
Don’t want to go home don’t want to sleep
Into dreams I don’t want to make a leap
With shadows walking with me
At this lonely hour of 3:00
Want to embrace this silence till dawn
Deep thoughts unallowing me to yawn
Shadows of new day starting to stalk
I finally end my solitary nightwalk
